Conversations with People and Ideas

Meet Socrates and other figures from history, philosophy, literature, and art through direct dialogue.

01 / The approach

A learner can ask a figure from the past a question and receive a response that opens another question. Conversation makes ideas, contexts, and viewpoints explorable without confusing a digital character with a historical source.

We design conversational avatars from selected sources. Their secure knowledge base is curated and controlled by Logosnet; objectives and activities are agreed with educators and institutions. Dialogue prompts study and comparison with the texts.

02 / How it works

01

Choose the sources

Define the figure, period, texts, and questions within the scope of the encounter.

02

Enter the dialogue

Learners ask questions in natural language, compare responses, and examine the reasons behind a position.

03

Return to the texts

Educators guide source checking, distinguish reconstruction from documentation, and invite new hypotheses.

03 / What to observe

Quality of questions

Ability to connect a response with a source

Comparison of perspectives

Awareness of reconstruction limits

04 / A concrete example

Socrates at Festival del Classico

The Socrates avatar, developed by e-REAL Labs, was presented at Politecnico di Torino during the 2025 Festival del Classico. The audience spoke directly with the philosopher. His questions invited participants to clarify ideas, state assumptions, and consider alternatives; the case illustrates a source-grounded conversational encounter.

05 / How to tailor it

The figure, source corpus, language, learners’ age, objectives, and educator mediation are set with the institution. Responses and knowledge-base boundaries are reviewed before use.
